Azure Infrastructure and Application Support Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for a Support Engineer with good Azure skills to support our ongoing growth. The role will work closely with our development team to support the creation and testing of highly responsive and tailored Cloud-based applications and services for our customers. This role will see you working with developers to help design, plan, test and implement new solutions while maintaining and improving existing services. One key requirement in this hands-on role will be to document existing environments and solutions and also to monitor live production environments to ensure agreed SLAs are being met.
Control and document systems and changes.
Monitor, report and control systems performance.
Working with developers to build new or enhance existing bespoke Cloud based client solutions
Assist with the design and planning of enterprise-scale Azure environments including application dependencies, data storage, network connectivity, security and overall cloud hosting
Compliance: ensure that all solutions are implemented and maintain to industry standards.
Lead the definition of the operational processes to effectively manage cloud environments
Providing technical guidance and assistance to colleagues where necessary
Responsible for planning that all proposed solutions are evaluated, planned, tested and that solution meets the requirements of the customer.
Developing project plans, tracking and reporting to delivery deadlines for new projects / deliverables as they arise
Key Skills & Experience
Experience working on highly available and resilient transactional systems.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure technology stack with proven technical experience on Azure or a similar large provider.
Expertise with Network Security, Traffic Manager, Load Balancing and Gateways.
Very good knowledge of Microsoft technologies, such as SQL and also exposure to other related technologies, such as MongoDB plus general network and security elements such as VPNs, PKI, DNS, DHCP, etc.
Excellent Scripting skills, ideally Powershell/PowerBI.
Strong technical documentation skills; workflows, architectural diagrams, support documentation.
A third level education or proven hands-on experience and expertise.
