We have an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with a deep understanding of the and interest in the properties and production behaviours of various metals and alloys. This role will focus on ensuring that the methods, designs and processes utilised across the production and new product introduction processes are as efficient and effective as possible and to lead continuous improvement efforts in these areas.
The role sits in our customers Operations team and will be responsible for driving Manufacturing excellence through Engineering support for all production related activities across the business. The Manufacturing Engineer will be expected to focus on manufacturing processes and efficiency, analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout in conjunction with the Production Manager. Another key responsibility will be continuous process improvement, ensuring product and process quality by designing testing methodologies; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards with the overall goal of improving reliability in use as well as standardisation and value engineering to reduce specialist component builds.
The successful candidate will come from a degree background in Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, further qualifications e.g. master’s would be beneficial. A proven track record unitising and applying Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing in an engineering context is required, Green Belt Certification would be a significant plus. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Good morphological analysis and a demonstrated analytical approach to problem-solving is required. Additionally, you will have sold experience on MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project and SolidWorks
